• Radar Observer (Unlimited)
Our 5-day Radar Observer (Unlimited) course is a USCG approved course. This course will satisfy the training requirements of the 46 CFR 11.480(d). The following practical assessment performed during this course will be in line NVIC 12-14 Guidelines on Qualifications for Officer In Charge of a Navigational Watch (OICNW) on Vessels of 500 GT or more.

The trainee will also be aware of the need to maintain a continuing plot of ship targets which may pose a potential threat of collision; and he will be able to derive from the plot the necessary information about other ships¿ courses, speeds and nearest approaches to enable action to be taken in ample time, in accordance with the rules of the road to prevent a close quarters situation from arising. This course meets the mandatory minimum requirements for knowledge, understanding and proficiency in Table A-II/1 as amended for the function Use of radar and ARPA to maintain safety of navigation at the Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (OICNW) on vessels of 500 or more gross tonnage.
This course will provide students with the detailed knowledge to support the training outcomes related to navigation at the operational level and in doing so satisfy company, national, and international regulations for candidates for certification as follows in accordance with Table A-II/1.
